Currently creating from her hometown in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, Emily has been painting for over 10 years. In 2014, her piece ‘Shower Thoughts’ was selected to be displayed in the ‘Creative Peninsula’ exhibition, where the piece attracted a great deal of attention. Since then the style of her work has developed and she focuses mainly on wildlife, agricultural animals and pets and she often paints in the garden. There she is inspired by the nature surrounding her home by looking across the fields and lough in front of her.
She works prominently on stretched canvas’s with acrylic paint, although also enjoys creating with mixed media depending on the style of the piece. Her style makes a prominent feature on any wall, by adding dramatic colour and bringing life into a room. Using bold, striking backgrounds made up of a singular block colour, her work is projected forward making every piece created eye catching and the centre of attention in any room.
